ALBAWABA - Three drone attacks hit a kindergarten and a hospital in Sudan's South Kordofan state, killing dozens of people, Essam al-Din al-Sayed, head of the Kalogi administrative unit, told AFP.

According to the source, the strike took place on Thursday, targeting the town of Kalogi in South Kordofan state. Three strikes targeted, "first a kindergarten, then a hospital and a third time as people tried to rescue the children", Essam al-Din al-Sayed added.

According to the Sudanese official, the attack was reportedly carried out by paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and their ally, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North faction led by Abdelaziz al-Hilu.

The UN children's agency explained that the drone attack left over 10 kids, aged between 5 and 7, killed. On the other hand, the army-aligned foreign ministry said that the strikes killed 43 children, while the overall death toll was placed at 79.
