Sudan has asked the United States to take out its name from the list of states allegedly sponsoring terrorism and to lift economic sanctions that have been imposed on Sudan for more than six years.

The United States is now called upon to lift Sudan's name from the list of states sponsoring terrorism "in the same way it has decided on the Sudan Peace Act," Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Ismail was quoted as saying by the official Al Anbaa newspapers. (Albawaba.com)
