The Sudanese government announced that it will not normalize ties with Tel Aviv after the peace agreement reached with the People's Liberation Army (SPLA), led by John Garang, last January, Secretary General of the ruling National Conference Party Ebraheem Ahmad Omar said Sunday.

Omar told reporters that the Sudanese stance towards Israel will not change as a result of the agreement.

Deputy President Ali Othman Taha said that the presence of international monitoring troops in the country to follow up the implementation of the peace agreement was with the approval of Khartoum.
