A suicide bomber detonated an explosive device Sunday Morning in a bus stop at the Checkpost Junction near Haifa, reports said, citing the Israeli military radio as saying.
The attack injured at least eight Israelis who were rushed to Rambam, Carmel and Bnai Zion hospitals, suffering from light to moderate wounds.
Magen David Adom, Israeli army spokesmen, was quoted by the Jerusalem Post as saying that “there are numerous trauma casualties.”
According to the early reports, the bomber is still alive suffering from serious wounds.
The Israeli army fired at the bomber before he detonated the device.
Meanwhile, they reinforced security in the area and warn of another bomber who may be in the vicinity in a booby-trapped vehicle.
It is the second attack in Haifa in a week.
Last week, sixteen Israelis were killed and 40 injured when explosions ripped through two buses in the northern Israeli port city of Haifa – Albawaba.com
