A suicide bomber blew himself up at a checkpoint close to the Libyan city of Misrata on Thursday, Reuters has reported.
Two guards were killed in the attack by the suicide bomber who was in a car, state news agency LANA quoted a military source as saying.
The attack was directed at forces from Misrata who are are loyal to a self-declared government based in Tripoli.
Forces in the port city are fighting against Daesh (ISIS militants) who have gained ground in the city of Sirte.
