New Executive Position Demonstrates Importance of Customer-Centric Evolution
SunGard Higher Education today announced that Matt Mandalinci has been appointed president and chief customer officer of SunGard Higher Education, a new role reporting to chief executive officer Ron Lang. Mr. Mandalinci will oversee global marketing, sales and services, and will be responsible for the customer experience from developing prospects through sustaining loyalty with long-time customers.
Mr. Mandalinci is highly regarded as a hands-on, energetic leader who will drive strategies to feed customer acquisition, retention and loyalty with the ultimate goal of growing the higher education business. He most recently served as president of SunGard’s Energy Solutions business, a leading provider of energy trading, transaction and risk management solutions, within SunGard Financial Systems.
“SunGard Higher Education has come a long way in evolving its culture of employees who truly care about customers into a customer-centric business model that benefits both sides,” said Mr. Mandalinci. “Customers look to us to help make their lives easier, and that’s what we will strive to do. By improving the customer experience, actively listening to our community, and aligning our operations, we become a more valuable partner to help our customers address the challenges that lie ahead. I am eager to be a part of this exciting evolution.”
In addition, Jack Kramer has been named as senior vice president of customer satisfaction, another new role focused on helping customers succeed. Mr. Kramer has been with the company for more than 20 years, bringing a deep understanding of higher education, customer needs, and technology development to the important new role.
“At the end of the day, what matters most is our customers’ success measured by the successful outcomes of their constituents,” said Ron Lang, chief executive officer, SunGard Higher Education. ”We are investing in strategies that can have a profound impact on our customers and our business by better anticipating and addressing the needs of higher education. These new positions and elevation of the customer experience at SunGard Higher Education demonstrate how much we value the people and institutions we serve and our desire to increase our level of intimacy with our customers.”
