Syrian Kurds welcome air strikes on IS

Syria’s main Kurdish political party welcomed U.S.-led air strikes on Islamic State militants and expressed its willingness to coordinate with the U.S., Reuters reports.

“We look forward to coordinating with the anti-Islamic State coalition in the face of terrorism, which threatens all human values in the Middle East,” Democratic Union Party leader Salih Muslim said Tuesday.

The U.S. began air strikes on IS targets in Raqqa and Aleppo Monday without coordinating with Assad’s regime, according to Reuters.
