Syria denied on Wednesday any meeting held with Israeli officials in framework of regional consultations to combat bird flu, saying an earlier report in this respect was “baseless.” “ No consultory meeting was held in Jordan yesterday to combat the bird flue disease,” sources at the Agriculture Ministry were quoted by SANA.
An Arabic London-based newspaper reported Wednesday a meeting was held in Jordan yesterday with the participation of Syria, Iraq, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority to face the bird flue epidemic. “The report is totally baseless,” the sources told SANA.
