Syria has rejected the accusations of Iraqi Defense Minister, Hazem Al-Shaalan, affirming that the stability in Iraq is for Syria's advantage.

Syria's Al-Thawra quoted on Sunday its Director General, Fayez Al-Sayegh saying that his country strongly refuses accusations that blame Syria for the loss of control in Iraq.

He re-affirmed that Iraq's stability, independence and the unity of its people serve the national welfare of Syria adding that these are part of his country's political policies.

According to the daily, Damascus is fully ready to politically cooperate with any side to achieve this noble national goal during unstable international conditions.

Iraq's Defense Minister accused Syria and Iran last week of supporting the armed operations in Iraq through supplying money and weapons. He warned the two countries not to intervene in Iraqi affairs.
