U.S. officials said Tuesday that the American government has no plans to coordinate with the Syrian government on targeting Islamic State militants in Syrian territory, AFP reports.

“There are no plans to coordinate with the Assad regime as we consider this terror threat,” a White House spokesman said.

The U.S. recently sent planes over Syria to collect intelligence about militants in the area, according to AFP. The White House dismissed Syrian demands that they be notified of U.S. activity over the country.
