A mortar attack on Syrian TV was one of the two blasts that came out of Damascus Sunday evening.   Two cars were set up near the General Organization of Radio and TV and both were blown up by suicide bombers.

At this time, two security guards were confirmed dead while both suicide bombers dies with their cars as reported by Paula Slier, RT correspondent.

“Within the last 20 minutes there were two massive explosions in downtown Damascus. It seems that one was right in front of the Syrian TV and we are seeing some footage being circulated on line by the rebels saying that their target is the Syrian TV,” said Slier.

The report stated that the rebels responsible have published an online video claiming that they will target the Syrian TV offices. Rebels have reportedly warned civilians to avoid all military checkpoints before the blasts which were only two minutes apart.

Another blast targeted the hotel where the UN foreign chemical weapons experts are staying reported Slier on her Twitter account. .  

Overall, nineteen experts from the United Nations and Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) are presently working in Syria and have already begun the dismantling process for Assad’s chemical weapons stores.
