Western diplomatic sources confirmed to Reuters that a US-Russia planned ceasefire will take effect in Syria on February 27.

The ceasefire agreement does not include Daesh, al-Nusra Front, or the Kurdish fighters in the north.

According to Reuters, the anonymous sources backed up an earlier report from Al-Jazeera that the draft of the US-Russia proposal called for a ceasefire by the end of the week.

Neither the US nor Russia has made a formal statement about the terms of the proposal.
