US-led coalition airstrikes conducted overnight killed a couple and their five children in Syria's northern Aleppo province, according to AFP.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the family was killed in a strike on the village of Daly Hassan. Their deaths "bring the number of Syrian civilians killed in coalition airstrikes since September 23 to 148, including 48 children and 32 women," the monitor said.
The Pentagon generally denies civilian deaths resulting from coalition airstrikes, but a preliminary investigation by the US-backed opposition National Coalition "lends credence to report that it was a US-led coalition airstrike," AFP reported.
The Observatory reported that US-led airstrikes killed at least 64 civilians in May, half of them children.
More than 220,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict began.
