Syrian government air forces dropped bombs near the Jordanian border in southern Syria as a coalition of opposition groups fight to take the southern district of Deraa, Reuters reports.
Syrian government forces have been clashing with opposition fighters along the Jordanian border in a wrestle for control of the Jaber, or Nasib, border crossing.
Following claims that opposition groups seized the Nasib border crossing late Wednesday night, Syrian government helicopters dropped barrel bombs near the border.
Syrian state news reported that Jordan has closed the border amid the chaos, according to Reuters.
On March 25th, Syrian rebels claimed control of the the historical town of Bosra al-Sham, located near the Jordanian border, after fierce clashes with the Syrian government, backed by Hezbollah and Iranian fighters.
