Lebanon’s Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri met in Damascus on Saturday with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to discuss matters of joint concern, Lebanese sources said.
In addition, the Syrian leader received a delegation led by the mufti of Lebanon Muhammad Qabbani, in which the concerns of the clergy as to their role in Lebanon were discussed, the sources added, according to KUNA.
The news agency further said that both meetings aimed at stressing the need for national unity in Lebanon amongst all groups and factions, in wake of the “relentless Israeli challenges”. (Albawaba.com)
