At least 30 people were killed Saturday in regime airstrikes on Jisr al-Shughur city in the northern province of Idlib, the Syrian Revolution General Commission said.
“Syrian army warplanes attacked a residential area in central Jisr al-Shughur city,” the commission said.
The death toll included a number of women and children and scores of people were wounded in the attack.
Earlier on Saturday, a number of opposition groups had taken control of Jisr al-Shughur from the Assad regime after four days of clashes.
The commission also said that regime forces executed 23 detainees in its military intelligence branch before withdrawing from the city.
Jisr al-Shughur was a strategic supplies point for regime forces that remain in Idlib’s countryside.
