The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Transport to enhance mutual cooperation aimed at creating more employment opportunities for UAE nationals at Dubai Transport.
The MoU was signed by Marwan Al Sawaleh, Assistant Director General and Director of the Employment and Skills Development Centre, Tanmia, and Mohammad Obaid Al Mulla, Director General of Dubai Transport.
Tanmia and Dubai Transport have agreed to form an executive committee comprising two members each from both organizations. The committee will be entrusted with the responsibility of identifying areas of mutual cooperation, and formulating the strategy for implementation of the agreement within the agreed timeframe of one month from the date of signing the MoU.
Al Sawaleh said: "Tanmia is vigorously pursuing its Emiratization drive to provide maximum employment opportunities to UAE nationals. The MoU with Dubai Transport comes as a major boost to our efforts, as it will significantly increase the number of Nationals employed at Dubai Transport."
"Recent studies have shown that the proposition of Nationals in the UAE job sector has remained constant over the last few years. Tanmia is making concerted efforts to reverse this situation by working closely with various government departments and private sector companies to ensure adequate National representation in the country's job market, and providing training and guidance to National jobseekers," he added.
Tanmia will assist Dubai Transport in its Emiratisation drive by offering its services for training and employing Nationals, and providing career guidance services.
Al Mulla said: "Dubai Transport is committed to support Tanmia's efforts to boost National employment. We will identify job opportunities within our different departments and submit the information to Tanmia, so we can benefit from Tanmia's large database in choosing the right candidates to fill the vacancies. Dubai Transport will also work in close cooperation with Tanmia in the selection of Nationals who will take up the vacant positions."
Tanmia will identify the type of training to be provided to Nationals selected from its database, determining whether they should be imparted classroom training or on-the-job training. In this regard, Tanmia and Dubai Transport have reached an agreement with the institutions that will provide training to the selected Nationals, who will join Dubai Transport upon successful completion of the training programme.
