Dubai Media City amphitheatre is expected to attract over 9,000 screaming fans when Tarkan, Turkey’s pop prince, takes to the stage on 9th November 2006. The artist who brought us the hit selling single “SHIKIDIM” will debut his Middle Eastern performance of his World Tour Concert right here in Dubai. Tarkan has already delivered sold out concerts throughout Turkey, Europe, and USA and now Dubai!
Born in 1972, this 30 something year old celebrity, merges a perfect balance between eastern and western musical influences, combining rhythm of pop music with the sensuality of oriental dancing flawlessly. Having moved to Turkey from Germany at age 15years, Tarkan was enrolled to study classical music at the conservatories of Karamursell in Istanbul. A year later, Tarkan started exploring his talents with performances in local clubs and bars where he was discovered by his now producer Mehmet Sogutoglu, the owner of Istanbul Records. The rest is history!
Having sold only 700,000 copies of his first album, Yine Sensiz (Without You Again) in 1992 in Turkey alone, Tarkan’s stardom has since stretched to Europe, USA and Latin America. Following several appearances on Turkish TV, Tarkan ventured into working on his second album in 1994. The album was distributed across Europe and received great reviews selling over 2 million copies. Following this success Universal Music France signed the artist to release his third album “Tarkan” putting him on the international music circuit. His latest album “Come Closer” released this year continues to receive great reviews and selling across the globe.

Tarkan’s Dubai performance promises not to disappoint his fans, having recently performed to a sold out concert in Turkey, this first class performance, will leave the crowd mersemised and begging for an encore.
