Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the asset development arm of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), and ALDAR, Abu Dhabi’s premier real estate development and investment company are exhibiting some of their premier projects in the world’s entertainment capital Las Vegas this week.
Projects from the UAE capital are being represented for the first time at the annual fall meeting and expo of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) – the international, non-profit research and educational organisation catering to land use and real estate development professionals.
“Over the past year, the Middle East has been responsible for some of the world’s largest real estate projects and development is now one of the fastest growing sectors in the region,” said Lee Tabler, CEO of TDIC and Chairman of the ULI Middle East, which was initiated by, and incorporated in the UAE capital, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of ADTA and TDIC.
“Abu Dhabi has now emerged as an international development destination with world-class projects which have achieved global recognition and its presence at the ULI exhibition will further heighten its profile among a highly authoritative audience,” added Tabler.
Meanwhile, the ULI will host a two-day real-estate workshop in the UAE next month – its first official event in the Middle East, reflecting its expanding outreach in rapidly developing markets throughout the region.
“The workshop has been designed specifically for real estate development professionals at all levels, in both the public and private sectors as well as for senior executives who want to expand their construction expertise and perspective,” said Bill Kistler, ULI President Europe.
“This is a very timely initiative as we solidify our partnership with the Middle East and will provide a strong foundation in all essential real estate elements.”
In addition, the UAE capital will also host a ULI Centre For Real Estate Education, within three years which will offer a broad range of courses in real estate development, valuation, contract management, urban and regional development, investment and economics.
The ULI Middle East Council and ULI’s Centre For Real Estate Education will be housed within the new TDIC headquarters being built adjacent to Maqta Bridge – the gateway to Abu Dhabi city.
The region’s first ULI workshop will be held at Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai from 7-8 November.
