Executive coach Tom Flatau told Capital Club Members how they could increase their business’s productivity by simply lifting staff morale and productivity, when he presented a seminar entitled “What Every Leader Needs to Know” at the Capital Club recently.
Mr Flatau also revealed some alarming statistics at his presentation, organised as part of the Capital Club’s executive skills improvement program, which challenged all the Members to think about their management style.
He said there were three facts that most managers did not know – 70% of employees reported that the worst aspect of their job was their boss, 92% of bosses believed they were excellent managers and only 20% of performance was governed by rational thinking and logic, with emotions accounting for the rest.
Mr Flatau, a consultant, executive coach and speaker whose clients include names such as Qatar Airways, HSBC Bank, The National Bank of Kuwait, BNP Paribas, Siemens and the BBC, said these three facts often led to conflict, low morale and poor staff performance which impacted seriously on the bottom line profit.
But he had plenty of tips for Capital Club Members. He suggested ways they could create an awesome team that was absent of blame-culture and capitalized on differing opinions and attitudes. He showed them methods for becoming more effective by developing specific goals that inspired and added value, and he guided them in ways to increase their creative output by as much as 300%.
