The trial of the detained US reporter for The Washington Post will start next week, Iran's Fars news agency said Tuesday.

According to AP the report quotes an anonymous official in the judicial system saying that the trial of Iranian American Jason Rezaian, along with two other suspects detained with him, will start next Tuesday.

Rezaian was arrested in Tehran in July for charges that include espionage and conspiring with hostile governments. Iranian officials have previously said Rezaian will be tried in the Revolutionary Court, which typically hears "sensitive cases" in closed sessions, AP said. It is unknown whether the trial will be open to the public.

Rezaian's lawyer Leila Ahsan said there was "no justifiable proof" in Iran's claims against him. He was originally detained with his wife, photojournalist Yaganeh Salehi, who was later released on bail.
