ALBAWABA - In a shocking and unexpected announcement, US President Donald Trump said that Washington held on Saturday direct talks with Iran about its nuclear program, AFP reported.
Trump is optimistic that he would ink a great deal with Iran, however, he warned that the Tehran government would be in "great danger" if the talks failed.
"We're dealing with the Iranians, we have a very big meeting on Saturday and we're dealing with them directly," Trump mentioned.
On the other hand, Iranian media confirmed to would have talks with the United States about the nuclear program on Saturday in Oman, but he stressed the talks were "indirect".
Tasnim news agency reported that Araghchi will attend the talks and meet Steve Witkoff, Trump's top envoy to the Middle East.
"It is as much an opportunity as it is a test," Araghchi posted on his X account, adding: "The ball is in America's court."
