Turkish artillery and coalition airstrikes hit 68 Daesh targets in northern Syria on Monday, a Turkish military source said.

Katyusha rocket launchers being prepared to fire into Turkey were among the targets hit by Firtina howitzers, the source said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to media.

Meanwhile, the General Staff said airstrikes were carried out Sunday in the Metina region of northern Iraq and in Cukurca, a district of Turkey’s southeastern Hakkari province. The Turkish Air Force regularly launches attacks on PKK militants in both areas.

The Turkish military has been engaged in a campaign against the PKK in Kurdish majority southern Turkey for the last year.
