Another court case has been filed against the former chairman of the Rebirth Party (YDP), Hasan Celal Guzel, according to a report by Turkish Daily News.
The new motion is based on the grounds that he insulted the Turkish judiciary in a speech he delivered publicly. Ankara Press Prosecutor Metin Sezgin said in his statement against Guzel that he incited people to hatred and animosity during the speech he delivered on the occasion of his release from prison after completing his one-year sentence.
Upon his release, Guzel had stated that the judicial system in Turkey had been politicized and as a result he was imprisoned. He had also stressed that it was urgent for Turkey to pass from the system of a tyrant state to a state that respects the rule of law. The prosecutor asked for his imprisonment from one to six years, said the daily – Albawaba.com
