A 12-member cell providing logistical support to militants holed up in the heights of Kasserine was dismantled by National Guard units, according to an Interior Ministry press release Thursday.

Belonging to the international militant organisation “Daesh,” members of this cell provide financial and logistical support to groups of militants, followers of Jond Al-Khilafa group holed up in the heights of Kasserine, the press release reads.

They also provide them with information on the movement of national guard and army units, the same source added.

The arrested individuals, who were placed in custody, had in their possession explosive detonators, military footwear and sums of money.

Tunisia remains under a state of emergency after multiple attacks by Daesh militants in the country.
