Two Turkish police officers were killed and one was injured in Istanbul on Sunday when an unidentified gunman opened fired on their car, Anatolia news agency reported.
The officers were plainclothes policemen and their car did not have an official police registration plate, the agency said.
The two victims of the attack, which took place in Kucukcekmece district on the city's European side, died in hospital.
Based on witness accounts, police were looking for a man in his 30s, the agency said -- Ankara, (AFP)
