A boat carrying relief aid from the United Arab Emirates arrived in Yemen's port city of Aden on Sunday, AFP has reported.

The shipment of 460 tons included medical and food supplies.

It is the second shipment sent by the UAE. The first arrived last week and delived 1,200 tons of aid, AFP reported local aid coordinator Ali al-Bikri as saying.

Aden is where President Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi took refuge until he left for Saudi Arabia.

The southern city has seen fierce fighting between Shiite rebels loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and fighters loyal to President Hadi.

Saudi-led airstrikes are continuing in the country. Many Yemenis have already fled the country.
