Egypt and UAE have signed 90 investment projects since January, a 15 percent rise in the number of joint projects compared to last year, said Egypt’s commercial attaché to the United Arab Emirates, Mamdouh Mustafa.

“This makes the UAE Egypt's third biggest Arab partner, after Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.”

According to Mustafa, $1.6 billion are to be invested in the 90 projects, with UAE partners footing 25 percent of the bill, the Middle East Times said.

The Egyptian government has been trying to increase the Egyptian trade presence in the UAE through holding exhibitions there.

For instance, Abu Dhabi will host the 6th Egyptian Products Exhibition at the end of October, while Sharjah will host the 3rd Egyptian Products Exhibition in early 2002.

Ras Al Khaima will host another Egyptian Products Fair in October 2002 – Albawaba.com
