UAE Maintains Support and Cooperation with the Islamic University of Technology

The United Arab Emirates has paid its share of the 2000/2001 annual budget of the Islamic University of Technology at Dhaka, Bangladesh. The University's annual budget is about US$154million. 

 

The Islamic University of Technology, formerly known as the Islamic Institute of Technology, is an educational and research institution of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). The University provides degree programs in the fields of engineering and technology. The University accepts students who are nominated from the member-states of the OIC. These students are provided with scholarships in the form of free Tuition, Boarding, Lodging, Medicare, Games and Sports Facilities. In addition, a monthly pocket allowance is also given.  

 

The UAE is an active member the University Board, which includes representatives of the eleven member-countries of the Organization of Islamic Conference. This week, UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Mohammed Sultan Al Za'abi received Anwar Hussein, Dean of the University, at his office, and discussed avenues of cooperation between the University and related parties in the UAE.
