The UAE Red Crescent Society (RCS) on Thursday dispatched its sixth planeload of aid to the economically beseiged Palestinians, who are suffering severe shortages of basic necessities due to Israeli army blockades, reported the Gulf News.
The plane's 35 tons of aid included medicines, medical instruments, children's clothes, school bags, foodstuffs, powdered milk and wheelchairs, said the paper.
According to Saleh Al Taei, RCS relief and project director, it was the RCS's sixth airlift of aid for Palestinians since February.
Taei said, "The goods will be distributed among needy people all over Palestine according to a list of places which are the worst affected. The list was provided by Palestinian authorities."
Palestinians also recently benefitted from an aid shipment from the Egyptian Physicians Association, despite long delays imposed by Israeli soldiers at the Rafah crossing point – Albawaba.com
