The office of Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron released a statement on Wednesday saying a team of UK aviation experts had a concern the Russian A321 aircraft that crashed in Sinai this week might have been brought down by an explosive device.

"While the investigation is still ongoing we cannot say categorically why the Russian jet crashed," the statement said.

"But as more information has come to light we have become concerned that the plane may well have been brought down by an explosive device," it added.

In light of the concern. the UK has delayed all flights to Sharm el-Sheikh in order to allow time for aviation experts en route to Sinai to make assessments of the security situation at the Sharm airport.
