Umniah Provides EDGE Connectivity for Comprehensive Smart Cards Company (CSCC) A System that is Set to Increase Operational Productivity
Further enhancing its pioneering role as Jordan’s innovative telecommunications solutions provider, Umniah recently signed an agreement with Comprehensive Smart Cards Company (CSCC) E-Kartak. Through the partnership formed, Umniah will be Enabling CSCC to run fare collection and vehicle tracking systems for public transportation companies in Jordan using prepaid smart cards. .
Using its groundbreaking EDGE capacities, Umniah is to develop a functional mechanism that will enable the management at CSCC and public transportation companies to eliminate the use of Cash by passengers using public transportation. The use of cash will be substituted by the use of prepaid smart cards E-Kartak. The agreement was signed by Umniah’s CEO Mr. Joseph Hanania and Nabil Abu Khader President of the Board Comprehensive Smart Cards Company

The new tracking system is set to increase productivity for Public transportation companies, as it will enable the company to maximize its resource usage while also practicing optimal standards of time management. Umniah’s EDGE enabled tracking system is designed to cover all governorates across the Kingdom, a feature that distinguishes it as one that is highly advanced. The tracking system’s broad coverage will provide public transportation providers with the capacity to extend its monitoring capacities with broad geographical reach destined to increase the quality of service provided by the firm.
In addition to that, the new system will reduce the time and risk needed for collecting cash from the drivers and fireboxes which in turn increase the efficiency of the company. Welcoming the partnership forged, Mr. Joseph Hanania explained that the alliance with CSCC manifests itself as the starting point for many more similar partnerships to follow.

Mr. Nabil Abu Khader stated that he is proud to be inking this agreement with Umniah, as this partnership is to raise public transportation productivity to new levels. He further added, that the new system will be up and running by the end of the coming week, and that the E-Kartak prepaid cards will be available for sale in over 60 outlets to be announced in daily newspapers.
