Universal Concepts hails Hotel Show a success
Hotel IT solutions provider makes successful show debut with roll out of new product range
Universal Concepts, the leading IT solutions providers for the hospitality industry, made a successful debut at this week’s Hotel Show, teaming up with Pronto Networks and RoomWithNet Worldwide to announce a number of new to market products.
“We have received a phenomenal response to our two new product ranges; the iConcierge in association with RoomWithNet Worldwide, and the iConnect internet solution with Pronto Networks,” said Abhishek Bose, general manager, Universal Concepts.
“There has been a great buzz on the show floor, and we are confident that many of our enquiries will convert into business deals after the show,” Bose remarked.
The Dubai-based supplier launched iConnect in-room internet access systems in association with Pronto Networks at The Hotel Show.
The revolutionary new system enables hotels to offer guests free access to low bandwidth usage such as email accounts, while charging for higher bandwidth usage such as file downloads or VoIP calls.
“So many hotels are struggling with the decision of whether or not to charge for internet access. iConnect provides an ideal solution, both for the hotel manager and for the guest. Our system can differentiate between various usages and charge the guest accordingly. For example, checking emails can be free of charge, web browsing may have a minimal charge, while hotels can charge full rate on downloads or VoIP calls,” said Abhishek, general manager, Universal Concepts.
“iConnect helps the hotel optimize on its internet revenue. The system is easy to install, and with revenue-share or maintenance fee payment models is easily affordable,” Bose added.
Universal Concepts and Pronto Networks offer brandable point-of-sale prompts, centralized authentication and billing and flexible service plans. In addition, the iConnect system can be integrated to Micros-Fidelio property management systems, as well as connected to hotel loyalty programmes.
Universal Concepts also unveiled its iConcierge interactive television system in association with RoomWithNet Worldwide. The iConcierge system provides state-of-the-art interactive TV (iTV) at a fraction of the cost of normal iTV systems. Complete with user-friendly menu, high speed internet connectivity and infrared keyboard, and maximum security for safe e-commerce, the iConcierge system is easy to install.
To coincide with its Hotel Show debut, Universal Concepts is offering the iConcierge system for the discounted rate of US $399 throughout the month of June, and is also offering free hotel signage to properties signing up for the system during the month.
iConcierge offers a multitude of services, including Pay TV, Music on Demand, InfoHotel, games, information and email, all designed to provide greater personalization for your guest’s stay.
Also new to the Universal Concepts portfolio is the iControl universal touch screen remote. Customisable to control virtually anything in the hotel room, the iControl, in tandem with Marmitek’s home automation suite of products, represented by sister company Universal Concepts, enables hotels to fully automate their guest rooms at a fraction of the cost.
Room automation can include remote controlling the air conditioning, lighting levels, television and audio, curtains and various other mood settings. The iControl is personalised to suit any configuration, with the device offering a limitless number of pages and options.
Universal Concepts also offers the stylish iPlay series – a collection of units offering MP3 compatibility, radio and alarm clock.
The iPlay series offers guests the option of waking to any FM/AM radio station, a buzzer, or the music of their choice from their personal iPod. iPlay units also have a built-in high quality speaker system, which allows guests to play their music direct from any MP3, CD or cassette player.
