ALBAWABA - Iran's Ministry of Health reported that at least 14 people have been killed and 78 injured in the American airstrikes across the country on Wednesday-Thursday night.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on X that it hit 90 positions in Iran, targeting air defense systems, missile and drone storage sites, and other assets.
In response, Iran's military announced it struck "key infrastructure and facilities" at U.S. bases in Arifjan and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, and Juffair and Sheikh Isa in Bahrain.
Additionally, Iran's state TV revealed that as a result of American attacks on the country, the train service between Tehran and Mashhad has been suspended.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump claimed early Thursday morning that Iranians called asking to make a deal and halt the attacks.
He said, "They called a little while ago. They want to make a deal so badly — I just don't know if they're worthy of making a deal. I don't know that they're going to honor the deal. That's the problem."
On the other hand, Iran's speaker of the parliament, Mohammad Bagher Galibaf, wrote on his X account, "America still hasn’t learned that bullying and breaking promises are no longer cost-free. Let me put it plainly: if you strike, you’ll get hit. Don’t flail around pointlessly, or you’ll sink even deeper: the Strait of Hormuz will only open with “Iranian arrangements,” not American threats."
This comes hours before slain supreme leader Ali Khamenei was due to be buried.
Tension resumed between the U.S. and Iran following accusations by Washington that Tehran attacked cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz and carried out airstrikes across Iran. In response, Tehran launched drone and missile attacks on American targets in the Gulf.
