Vocollect Board of Directors Names Joe Pajer Chief Executive Officer

 Vocollect, Inc., the world leader in voice-centric solutions for mobile workers, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Joe Pajer, formerly chief operating officer, as chief executive officer and president of the company. In this capacity, Pajer now has full executive leadership of Vocollect, Inc. Roger Byford, the co-founder of Vocollect, continues in his role as Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer.
In making the announcement, Byford said, “This appointment is a reflection of the strong leadership and visionary guidance Joe has brought to Vocollect since he first joined the company in November 2008 as president of our Supply Chain Solutions division. Since that time, through Joe’s efforts, Vocollect has made significant strides in expanding its overall market leadership and global footprint,” he said. “We are tremendously excited to have someone with Joe’s expertise leading the company.” No other management changes are being announced at this time.
Vocollect’s continued top-line growth and expansion, including the addition of more than 100 new customers in the first half of 2010, is due in part to strategic initiatives that were undertaken in 2009 under Pajer’s leadership. Last year Vocollect expanded its sales efforts in Asia-Pacific and Latin America and is currently introducing a broad set of innovative new voice solutions.
Pajer’s career spans more than 20 years in senior executive roles in high technology markets including consumer electronics, semiconductors, personal computers and high-end computer networking. Prior to joining Vocollect, he was executive vice president and general manager of the Broadband Routing & Switching operation of Marconi, Plc. in Pittsburgh. Pajer has also held leadership positions with FORE Systems, Compaq Computer Corporation and AT&T.
Pajer holds an M.S. degree in management and a B.S. degree in civil engineering/engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He has held a variety of board positions in local civic and professional organizations throughout his career.
