ALBAWABA - Hamas leader Ismail Barhoum was killed in the late Sunday airstrike that targeted the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reported.

The Israeli strike hit the hospital in southern Gaza leading to the killing of at least two people, including a senior Hamas official and a 16-year-old boy, Hamas and health officials confirmed.

Media also revealed that Ismail Barhoum was getting treatment at the hospital after being wounded in an airstrike four days ago.

After the attack on the hospital, the Palestinian movement said: "We condemn this latest crime, which adds to the occupation’s long record of terrorism, violating sanctities, lives and medical facilities."

"It reaffirms its disregard for all international laws and conventions and its continued policy of systematic killing against our people and leadership," the statement reads.
