Yemeni officials claim a Saudi-led coalition helicopter shot a truck in northern Yemen, killing nine passengers, reports Associated Press.

The incident took place early Thursday morning in the northern Saada province, which is considered to be Houthi stronghold.

Officials allege that the helicopter was targeting Shiite fighters transporting rebel weapons.

The five-day ceasefire commenced in Yemen on Tuesday after 48 days of Saudi-led airstrikes against positions of the Shiite Houthi group.

On the first day of the ceasefire, minor disturbances were reported by witnesses.

The Houthis allegedly shelled a residential neighborhood in Ad Dali province in the south, only one hour into the cease-fire. Witnesses also stated that the Houthis opened fire on positions held by army troops loyal to embattled President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi in the central province of Taizz.
