young fashion brand opens its first store in the united arab emirates at dubai festival city
After the market entry in Saudi Arabia in 2007, NEW YORKER sees a potential of 50 stores in Middle East.
The young and trendy fashion retailer, NEW YORKER, launched its first store in Dubai at Dubai Festival City (DFC) on 13th December 2007 in cooperation with its franchise partner Retail Group Gulf Llc.
Accompanying the launch in the Middle East, a public event will be held on Thursday, 24th January 2008 inline with the launch of DUBAI SHOPPING FESTIVAL for press, customers and all interested parties to create a great atmosphere and publication of the new young fashion brand NEW YORKER.
The event will take place from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the DFC store with a live broadcast from DJ Moe of Channel 4’s (104.8) popular evening show, creating an
upbeat party atmosphere for shoppers to enjoy.
Apart from countless fashion highlights and special offers, guests will receive
NEW YORKER giveaways and by spending Dhs250 during the event, customers will automatically be granted entry into the grand lottery to win a complete wardrobe makeover from NEW YORKER.
"Welcome to the opening of our first store in Dubai. NEW YORKER wants to set new standards with the entry into a new market, creating another shopping highlight for the young consumer group," states NEW YORKER owner Friedrich Knapp.
NEW YORKER offers up-to-the-minute trendy collections at attractive prices in fashion,
beauty and lifestyle. Regardless whether it is casual outfits, sexy styles or lovely basics, the NEW YORKER stores in the Middle East and especially in Dubai provide for all tastes. The architecture and design of the 800 square meter store is modern and “weightless” and the interior is fresh and subtle coloured to make any shopping excursion delightful.
Dr. Florian Kall (vice president of NEW YORKER) continues: "From our point of view the
Middle East is a very interesting market, and the Young Fashion segment holds enormous potential here. Over 30 percent of the regions’ population or over 100 million people are between 15 to 29 years old. However, the young fashion segment/market in the Middle East is covered only insignificantly.
That is the potential for NEW YORKER: to enter the market with latest trends and styles with a good price-performance ratio for our target group, 12 to 35 years young people. Our medium- term goal is the development of a branch network of ~50 stores in the region in order to reach the young, trendy target group."
The company is one of the leading businesses in the young fashion industry. In 1971 the first jeans store opened its doors for business in Flensburg, Germany. By now, NEW YORKER fashion is represented in actual 588 stores in 23 countries all over the world.
More than 100 new stores planned are planned to open in 2008, to reach 700 stores in total. In June 2007, the business in the Middle East has started in the KSA with first stores in Riyadh and Jeddah. Further expansion will take place in the KSA and UAE and also through further entries in other countries across the region of the Middle East.
