ALBAWABA - US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited on Nov. 5 the Turkish capital Ankara and met his counterpart. This visit comes amidst Blinken's regional tour.

The US Secretary of State visited Jordan, West Bank, Israel and Iraq to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. At least 9,770 people were killed since Oct. 7, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

As Blinken visited Turkey, photos emerged online showing some pro-Palestinian banners allegedly hung in Ankara by activists along the streets that the Secretary of State will pass by.

A photo of Abu Obieda, the spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, was said to be pictured in one of the streets in Ankara amid the visit of Blinken.

A person posted the photo showing Abu Obieda and wrote: "Protesting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Ankara, Turkey, protestors hung a banner of Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida on a road they believe his convoy will drive on."

Furthermore, another banner allegedly said to be placed at one of the bridges in the Turkish capital reading "Baby Killer Blinken".

A Turkish-written banner was also said to take place in Ankara read "Get out, murderer America".

According to some social media users, the pro-Palestinian banners came as a response to Blinken's visit to Turkey taking into consideration the US support for Israel, and its justification of the Israeli airstrikes in Gaza as "self-defense" action.
