ALBAWABA - A young Egyptian man slaughtered an elderly man and walked around while carrying his head in the street in the Abu al-Joud area in the center of Luxor city, Al Arabiya reported.
An eyewitness told Al Arabiya that an argument occurred between the young man and the elderly, so he pulled out a knife that he had hidden in his clothes, then surprised him and stabbed him multiple times.
The crime reminded many people of a similar one that happened in the Ismailia region and shook the Egyptian community over 3 years ago when the Public Prosecution received a report that the accused had stabbed his friend to death with a knife in front of passersby on a public road in Ismailia and carried his head across the streets.
The witness further detailed how the accused slaughtered the old man's head and walked around with it in the street.
He said the young man is definitely suffering from a mental illness and that the Egyptian police, after receiving a report of the incident, imposed a security cordon in the area and began investigating.
A horrific video was posted on social media, however, Al Bawaba refrains from sharing it.
