Forbes cancels ceremony amid presence of Palestinian activist
Rima Hassan took to her official X (formerly known as Twitter) account to express her sadness and anger about the matter and said in French:
"I announce with anger and sadness that the entire Forbes trophy award ceremony intended to reward the 40 French women of the year for their commitment, their journey, and their career, has been canceled due to the pressure and intimidation of recent days."
She added:
Please note that most of this pressure comes mainly from men who believe they are all-powerful and allowed everything, who have knowingly and publicly tagged Forbes to put pressure on, as a result, 40 women find themselves deprived of this event."
This is intolerable and unacceptable. Thank you patriarchy. A non-exhaustive list of boomers who have not yet understood that their era is over."
After passionately stating the above, the activist continued to name all the individuals who caused this unfortunate event and called them "boomers" and whatever they did "unacceptable."
The lawyer in international law currently resides in France and according to her official X, she's a Palestinian refugee from the Neirab camp in Syria.
According to Amnesty, the "Nakba" (Catastrophe) that was caused by Israel illegally occupying Palestine in 1948, resulted in the displacement of more than 700,000 Palestinians who now can be found residing either in camps or other countries across Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and more.
