ALBAWABA - A 21-year-old Norwegian tourist recently went viral on social media after reports revealed that ICE deported him over a famous JD Vance meme.
According to The Daily Mail, 21-year-old Mads Mikkelsen arrived at New Jersey's Newark Airport on June 11 to spend his holidays in the US, only to be detained and sent back by the immigration office. Mikkelsen later described to a local outlet in Norway that he was subjected to abuse of power and harassment.

He also revealed that he was questioned about topics such as terrorism, drug trafficking, and right-wing extremism for no specific reason in mind.
Additionally, he also accused the immigration office of reportedly threatening him with a $5,000 fine or a five-year prison sentence if he refused to unlock his phone, which had the bald egg-shaped JD Vance meme in its gallery. He further disclosed that the authorities sent him back to Norway the same day.
JD Vance's face has become a prominent symbol in meme culture as of 2025, with social media users using it to create different variations, including the viral egg-shaped bald head. It first gained traction due to Vance's couch incident and "right-wing" political views during the 2025 US presidential election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
