ALBAWABA - Israeli military officials, engaged in operations in Gaza for more than a month, voice skepticism on a quick triumph.
One hundred reserve officers who have been actively involved in the Gaza struggle for the past 200 days wrote to Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi voicing their worries, which was reported by Israel's Channel 14.
The commanders disputed previous declarations of optimism on an impending triumph in Gaza made by senior military officials. They said, "From our experience on the ground, it is clear that victory remains distant."
It was stressed in the letter that Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza still have a sizable arsenal, comprising "drones, mortars, and an extensive network of tunnels," and that a large number of fighters are ready to fight on.
Israeli military operations in Gaza have continued for 310 days in spite of these worries. Although official reports point to improvement, since the attack started on October 7, at least 39,790 Palestinians have died, including 10,980 women and 16,314 children.
Israel's airstrikes on hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities have resulted in severe devastation and fatalities; many more people are said to be buried beneath the wreckage.
