ALBAWABA - The last video of multiple of the aid workers who were killed in Gaza, yesterday, after Israel targeted their vehicle in Deir el-Balah has circulated online.
In the clip, Australian aid worker Zomi Frankcom, who works with World Central Kitchen (WCK), took a video showing some of the organization's chefs working as they help in food aid for Gazans amid a lack of access to food and water and possible famine in the strip.
In the footage posted a week ago, World Central Kitchen (WCK) chefs were seen preparing a beef and vegetable stew in Gaza’s Deir el-Balah.
On the Instagram post, WCK said: "We’re expanding this space so we can increase the amount of meals we produce for families in central Gaza daily. #ChefsForThePeople."
According to Al Jazeera reporter Hind Khoudary, the organization workers are "well recognised in the Gaza Strip." She added that they have been working with at least 100 local kitchens to help with food aid and hot meals for months.
Following the news of the Israeli attack on the vehicle that was transferring foreign aid workers, Jose Andres, the Spanish-American chef who founded WCK, released a statement saying that the organisation had "lost several of our sisters and brothers in an [Israeli] air strike in Gaza."
The spokesperson to the US National Security Council (NSC) said that the killing of seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza is "troubling" and urged the Israeli government to "swiftly investigate what happened."
