ALBAWABA - The London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, along with the British royal family, attended the Christmas tree lighting in Trafalgar Square, London; however, the decorations of the Christmas tree were met with negative reactions as Christians say it lacks the holiday spirit, which is full of colors and joy.
According to the BBC, the tree lighting was done in a huge celebration on Thursday, December 4. The British media website also mentioned that each year since 1947, Norway has gifted a Christmas tree to the United Kingdom as thanks for its support during World War Two.

Yet, the pale Christmas tree has driven outrage among Christians on social media, who compared the Trafalgar Square tree with other ones across the globe, including one in Poland's Warsaw and Lebanon's Beirut, blaming Sadiq Khan and accusing him of not caring about Christmas, with people mentioning that he is deliberately doing this because he is "Muslim".
A person commented on the Christmas tree look, "The turning on of the Christmas tree lights in London, UK, compared with Warsaw, Poland," adding, "Do not tell me that London Mayor Sadiq Khan cares about the city or about Christmas."
An activist posted a photo of the London Christmas tree and said, "This what happens when you say nothing about your country being taken over by Muslims. The people hate you. The royal family couldn’t even gather a crowd when they attended a well promoted Christmas event. Snubbed by all. The days of Princess Di are over."
On the other hand, some others defended the tree decoration, saying that this is the way people in Oslo also decorate their tree.
Nonetheless, others posted a video of Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, when he looked nervous during the London Christmas tree lighting as he joined the choir to sing Christian songs.
"Muslim Mayor of London Sadiq Khan nearly crashes out the moment he realizes he has to sing 'Christ is born the newborn King' during a Christmas Carol event in London," a person said.
