ALBAWABA - Eve Gilles won the title as Miss France 2024 causing a controversy on social media over her very short hair.
Gilles, 20, from Nord-Pas-de-Calais in northern France, has been the talk of the internet as many debated her very short hair saying that she doesn't deserve the title of Miss France 2024.
According to the Independent, Eve Gilles is the first woman in history with very short hair to be crowned the winner of the pageant.
She defended her short hair saying: "We’re used to seeing beautiful Misses with long hair, but I chose an androgynous look with short hair."
Miss France 2024 maintained: "No one should dictate who you are... every woman is different, we're all unique."
Meanwhile, many social media users had very different opinions as many shared mockery memes about Eve Gilles after she gained the title.
Some online users posted edited photos showing men with short hair with the Miss France 2024 ribbon placed on them to mock Eve Gilles.
Another person edited a video showing French President Emmanuel Macron wearing a dress with the Miss France ribbon around him as if he won the contest.
