ALBAWABA - As he addressed the nation at a White House conference, US President Donald Trump sparked debate after claiming that he brought peace to the Middle East for the first time in 3000 years due to "ending" the two-year war in Gaza.
Trump said, "I have ended the war in Gaza, bringing for the first time in 3000 years peace in the Middle East and secured the release of the hostages both living and dead."
His statement received mixed reactions among social media users who argued that the US President didn't bring peace to the Middle East as Israel's occupation of Palestine and its aggression on Gaza is still ongoing.
The Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of over 70,000 Palestinians and the injuring of 171,000 others. among whom are children and women, as reported by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
Trump says he brought peace to the Middle East for the first time in 3000 years
A social media user wrote X (formerly Twitter), "The conflict in the Middle East started in 1946. They want you to believe it started thousands of years ago to justify overlaying their country right on top of Palestine and stealing their land."
Another added, "Israel just killed people the other week and a couple of them were kids."
During the same White House conference, Trump announced a "warrior dividend," a $1,776 check that is expected to be sent to approximately 1.45 million US soldiers who are eligible before Christmas.
