ALBAWABA - Social media users claim that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received 79 claps during his speech at the US Congress, despite backlash from pro-Palestine protestors and more than 50 congress members including Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders, according to Politico.
It was claimed that 59 out of the 79 claps were on foot, and according to Netanyahu, he wanted to "stop and listen" instead of clapping so much.
He said, "No No, don't applaud...Listen."
US Congress applauded Netanyahu 79 times, social media claims
The boycotting and protests occurred due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of thousands of Palestinians.
Several pro-Palestine protestors also burned the American flag in response to allowing a "genocidal" politician like Netanyahu into Congress for a speech about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
A congress representative claimed that the members who didn't attend were replaced to fill the empty seats. X CEO Elon Musk who also attended, called these claims "anti-Semitic."
The Palestinian Youth Movement posted a video on X, a few hours before Netanyahu was scheduled to speak showing his table at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC, covered with maggots and other creatures.
