ALBAWABA - A video has angered many women's rights activists after it went viral on social media showing an Egyptian taxi driver harassing a Chinese tourist.
A clip circulated online showed a taxi driver in Egypt using the Google Translate app to harass a tourist from China. The video was widely condemned and described as "disgusting" by many people who also called authorities to arrest the Egyptian man.
In the footage, a taxi driver was seen asking the Chinese tourist if "she would like to go to his place" using an Arabic-to-Chinese translator. The woman immediately says "No, never, don't think like this".
Then he tells her that she is a "beautiful woman" and attempts to touch her leg with his hand when she moves it away, they both say "No touch".
Many cases of sexual harassment have been reported in both public and private transportation as conditions are worsening in Cairo.
Numerous assaults were recorded over the past year, including incidents involving Uber drivers.
