ALBAWABA - Jordan King Abdullah II met on Monday with Jordanian-American politician Julia Nesheiwat and her husband, former US National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz.

According to the local website, Ammon, King Abdullah enjoyed dinner on Monday with Nashiwat and her husband Waltz.

It is worth noting that the King started an official working visit to the US on Monday, during which he is set to discuss regional conflicts and matters, in addition to the US role in achieving stability and strengthening the strategic partnership between Amman and Washington.

Who is Julia Nesheiwat?

Dr. Julia Nesheiwat served as America's 10th Homeland Security Advisor and formerly served as a U.S. Army combat veteran and diplomat. Nesheiwat is an expert on the intersection of energy security, climate resilience, and national security. 

She had earlier served in the Bush, Obama, and Trump administrations.

According to the US Secretary of State, Julia is the Presidential Deputy Envoy for Hostage Affairs, strengthening diplomatic efforts to secure the safe return of Americans held hostage overseas. 

She works side by side with the families of American hostages, foreign governments and the interagency Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell, she represents the US on hostage-related issues.

Furthermore, Julia Nesheiwat is the sister of Janet Nesheiwat, an American physician who is the nominee for the US Surgeon General.
